The Company

Darby, founded during the Covid-19 pandemic by an ER doctor, addresses inefficiencies in-home medical care by leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows. The company’s primary focus is automating the processing of medical equipment orders, reliant on outdated workflows like faxing, often containing incomplete or inconsistent information. Darby’s innovative AI agents handle 50-90% of order processing, freeing up human workers to focus on more rewarding and higher-value tasks. For Darby customers, using AI agents enables them to reduce costs and meet the increasing demands for speed and efficiency in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

The Problem

Understanding the diversity of customer workflows, Darby identified the need for highly configurable, customisable software as part of its AI solution. Having already created a proof of concept, the Darby CTO had already identified Elixir as the perfect programming language to meet technical requirements.

With only two in-house engineers, Darby needed highly-experienced Elixir developers to accelerate the development of the proof of concept into deliverable, customised solutions to meet increasing customer demand.
