As Hollywoodbets experienced rapid growth, BET Software recognised the need for a more robust system to support increasing user demand and to mitigate any potential risk. BET Software understood the importance of providing a more scalable, resilient service, particularly during peak betting times, so they turned to Erlang Solutions, known for its expertise in managing high-demand environments in the gaming industry.
The increasing betting volumes highlighted the need for enhancements in BET Software’s centralised system. The demand on the system posed an issue for processing and resulting bets efficiently. This was particularly evident with “lucky number” bets, which were susceptible to delays and bottlenecks.
Enhancing BET Software’s platform for peak performance
To help BET Software resolve these issues, Erlang Solutions introduced Elixir, a programming language designed to create scalable and concurrent systems. This allowed BET Software to run highly parallel processes, crucial for handling and eliminating the bottlenecks that had previously disrupted the system, including those issues with lucky number betting.
Erlang Solutions also helped BET Software transition to a distributed data architecture. This new architecture ensured that if one data centre experienced failure, others could take over seamlessly, maintaining system availability- even on the busiest betting days.
To further enhance the platform’s current capabilities, Erlang Solutions developed an innovative event ingress system, capable of processing up to 300,000 market changes on peak days. This system was key for enabling real-time event processing and live betting, so Hollywoodbets could offer a top betting experience to its users.

Erlang Solution’s introduction of Elixir has been crucial in supporting Hollywoodbets’ growth and continuing to provide a seamless experience for large volumes of concurrent users.
Transitioning BET Software to a distributed data architecture has provided added value to its existing infrastructure, for uninterrupted service during peak betting events. BET Software can now process and result bets much faster, so customers can receive and reinvest their payments more quickly.
