Real-time communication challenges
As NayaPay looked to enhance its chat capabilities, it needed a reliable XMPP chat server that could integrate with its existing ChatSDK library. After evaluating several options, MongooseIM emerged as the best choice due to its strong security features, flexibility for future enhancements, and robust framework for real-time messaging—crucial for providing the level of performance and security required in financial services.

Building a secure, scalable solution
Erlang Solutions was brought on board to implement a secure and efficient backend system. The team set up a production environment, performed stress testing during the pilot phase, and followed this with performance tuning and feature enhancements, such as the integration of voice and video chat capabilities.
The MongooseIM backend was seamlessly integrated with NayaPay’s ChatSDK frontend, optimised for both Android and iOS, which ensures a smooth user experience. To meet the stringent security demands of the financial services industry, ESL delivered an on-premises deployment, hosted on a private cloud. The deployment included rigorous security measures to protect sensitive data from potential threats.
Ensuring high security and compliance
To meet industry-leading security standards, Erlang Solutions implemented critical features like public key-based client authentication, encrypted connections between clients and servers, and FIPS 140 compliance.
These enhancements allowed NayaPay to securely manage sensitive financial information, without compromising on performance or reliability.
